One of the oldest and most traditional rowing clubs in Bavaria.

The interests of our members are so diverse: Learning to row, doing leisure and fitness sports, being a competitive athlete, hiking rowing, strength training, nature and community – all combine the enthusiasm for rowing.

Welcome to the website of the Munich Rowing Club of 1880 e.V.

Our club life is shaped by our motto ‘ Rowing. Together. Experience.’, our mission and Violence prevention initiatives.

Locations

Lake Starnberg is one of the most attractive rowing areas in Germany. The MRC also has a boat hall at the 1972 Olympic track in Oberschleißheim, where everyone can practice (racing) rowing under optimal conditions.

Boathouse Starnberg

The romantic building accommodates three boat halls, a large ballroom and our kitchen. A new gym with state-of-the-art equipment is located in the bright and friendly Seehaus. If you train strength and endurance here, you will be rewarded with a beautiful alpine panorama. On the premises, we are not only active in sports – in summer, we refuel here with a view of the Alps, jump into the lake and celebrate barbecues.

Regatta facility Oberschleißheim

The MRC also occupies two boat halls on the 1972 Olympic track in Oberschleißheim, where racing rowing can be pursued under optimal conditions. The regatta circuit is the pivotal point for many training camps and advanced training courses, even far beyond the club's boundaries. It is thus a nucleus as well as a venue for world-class rowing. It is worth it for everyone to look past the pole on occasion and to observe the athletes during training or the execution of regattas.
