Rowing courses for adults

We believe that not only young people, but also adults can learn to row.

The beginner course: Please take him seriously.

They take time to participate on fixed days for 12 weeks. We have developed a suitable concept for the course with a lot of work and commitment and have tested it in practice. We therefore deprive ourselves of the freedom to cancel interested parties who are unreliable. Because we have more enquiries than places available – so we only train beginners who really want to row and are fully committed to it – and stay.

Costs for the beginner course

For the beginner course, a fee of € 250,- is charged, which is payable upon entry into the Münchener Ruder-Club von 1880 e.V. 75 euros for the purchase of club clothing is partially charged.

In the basic course of adult beginner training, you should find out for yourself whether rowing is something for you. If the trainers are also convinced, we invite you to join the club after the first 6 training sessions and to complete another 6 training sessions in the advanced training course. In 2027, however, only half an annual contribution.

Information about the course in 2027

We will also train beginners in the 2027 season, probably as follows:

• 2 foursomes on Tuesday at 18:30h
• 2 foursomes on Wednesday at 18:30h
• 2 foursomes on Thursday at 18:30h
• 2 foursomes on Saturday at 10:30h

It is expected that we will be able to accept a maximum of 32 applicants. The preliminary planning is as follows. Changes will not be completely avoided.

1. The applicant should be able to come regularly for at least 6 weeks in the basic course and 6 weeks in the advanced course.
2. We meet in any weather. If we can't get on the water, there are many opportunities to train in rowing, in theory and practice.
3. The basic course will take place between Easter and Pentecost.
4. The advanced course takes place in the period from Pentecost to large school holidays.
5. Prerequisite for participation in the advanced course is a successful completion of the basic course and membership in the MRC of 1880.
6. Introductory event at MRC in Starnberg near Munich on Saturday, 13 March 2027, at 10 a.m.
7. At the end of July 2027, the closing event with the topic of river rowing will take place at the rowing club at Lech Kaufering.
8. An information event is expected to take place in September 2027 for all members who joined in 2027.
