We have a nice news regarding our clubhouse renovation, some more very good news about great sporting successes and important hints for you.

And as a reminder: The theoretical part of the Obleute training will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Casino of the Munich Rowing and Sailing Association (MRSV) (it is fully booked with the 70 registrations available).

Great races at the national competition in Münster

Our youth drove many great and exciting races at the national competition in Münster. We sincerely congratulate you!

Our athletes also excelled in an additional competition.

RC Starnberg (MRC/MRSV) successful at the Bavarian Championship in Munich

After the highlight of the season for juniors and children, it was time for the highest Bavarian regatta. In addition to the younger athletes, the experienced seniors and masters were also on site on the regatta track in Oberschleißheim.

Successful German Masters Championships - complete set of medals for our club

At the Triple Championships on 11 and 12 July 2026 in Krefeld, our rowers presented themselves in a strong form. During the event, the German Championships in rowing (medium and large boats), the Open German Masters Championships and the 78. German University Championships (DHM) Rowing performed. With gold, silver and bronze, our club returned home with a complete set of medals.

Clubhouse and infrastructure

We have received the building permit!

A milestone has been reached: We finally got our building permit. All measures at the clubhouse and aft barn including workshop and equipment shed may take place as planned. We are very relieved after the long wait has put us to the test. Now it can finally start in September.

However, the start of construction now also means that there will be a few restrictions. Some habits have to be changed, berths and some lockers have to be returned, generally we have to move something together. Please be considerate, practice forbearance and talk to each other until new routines have settled in.

The ladies will have to tighten up a bit so that the front part of the ladies' changing room can be available to the gentlemen. Another men's changing room is created in the sun lounger shed, which unfortunately has to be vacated by the sun loungers owners. In summer, the outdoor shower will soon be available again as a shower option. And in the ladies' house, it should also be possible for the gentlemen to shower in limited time slots. The grassroots athletes are encouraged to take a shower at home if possible.

Various teams around Rolf Schuh, Bernd Kühlein and Manja Arlt are working intensively to implement the interim solutions in pergola, sun lounger shed and ladies' house by September. Please support them wherever you can.

We will report on our changed use in and around the house shortly.

Valuables in the Starnberg City Archives

Meanwhile, the history team around Henriette Holz has catalogued our art objects and valuable trophies, professionally packaged them and handed them over to the Starnberg City Archives for safekeeping. A big thank you goes to the city of Starnberg and Mrs. Vanessa Arndt, who are very supportive of us with this offer.

Stefanie Karinger also provides us with space on her high-bay warehouse for further storage space and the Holz family with their party tent. Elke Ratz and Jana Malter take care that we do not lose track of all the outsourcing and inventory all our possessions and the storage location. And last but not least, club servicemen and Saturday rowers repeatedly load the trailers of Stefan Rembold and Stefan Holz with bulky waste marked for disposal. The house is slowly emptying. Take advantage of the opportunity for beautiful photos of our clubhouse before the renovation begins.

The board would like to thank the many helpers for their great support.

Next fee collection

In the coming days, the second half of the membership fees will be collected for the half-year payers. Likewise, due membership fees for new members as well as compensation for unpaid club service will be debited in 2025.

Beware of the ladies house

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Young or old, please do not drip into the changing room after swimming. Take a towel to the jetty and dry sufficiently before entering the ladies' house. The floor is mirror-smooth when wet. There have already been several accidents – fortunately with a mild outcome.

Training with defibrillator

From membership donations, a new defibrillator could be purchased, which can save lives in a sudden cardiovascular arrest. The devices are specially designed for laymen and guide safely through the entire resuscitation through simple speech instructions.

On Tuesday, 28 July, from 9 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. There will also be online training on how to use the new defibrillator via teams. Stefan Rembold will accompany the training. Registration is not required.

Wanted: Support for ‘Belt & Skull’

As of 1 September 2026, the club magazine ‘Riemen & Skull’ is looking for a person responsible for the ‘Advertisements’ section.

The task includes: communication with advertisers (around the beginning of September to the end of October); Ensure that advertisers' electronic ad files are available at the editorial deadline and forward the files to the layout team (approximately mid-November); invoicing by the CFO (ca. February); Send the magazine together with the invoice to the advertisers (about February). The training is actively accompanied.

Your donation – small or large – brings us closer to the goal of renovating our beautiful, venerable boathouse. Every contribution counts. Each euro shows: We are pulling together – as if in a boat. For our planning, we assume that each member contributes an average of €1,000 – also in partial amounts or staggered over the entire construction period. This is how we manage to get our century project on track together.
