Dear MRCler,
Dear rowing friends
When you come to the club, you will be some changes Notices announcing the upcoming refurbishment. The clubhouse is emptied from the attic to the kitchen. On the meadow there is a tent for temporary storage of furniture. Women's house, pergola and sun lounger sheds are being worked on to create solutions for the interim operation. A big thank you goes to all those who have actively participated in the past weeks and especially last Saturday.
It is planned to start in September with the construction of the scaffolding. In the following we inform you about the interim operation, the schedule and the status of funding and donations and the MRC bazaar.
Today our newsletter has become a little longer. We have big plans, but it's also important to us that club life stays alive.
Many greetings
Your board of directors
Current operation until the start of construction
Until construction begins, everything will continue as usual. The gentlemen stay in the clubhouse, even if they must have vacated their lockers by 20.08. (except the lockers in the small changing room in the old board room). The women's changing room has already been sorted a bit and is currently only used by the ladies.
The kitchen operation also continues until the start of construction. Remaining food is currently required. The freezer must be emptied. Smaller bottlenecks may occur. All those who would like to conjure up something for everyone from the leftovers are cordially invited.

Interim operation (from the start of construction)
From the start of construction, we all have to come together a bit, but the rowing business and even a small kitchen business can be maintained.
- Women's changing room: As usual in the ladies' house, but a small part must be ceded to the gentlemen
- Men's changing room: In a small part of the ladies' house changing room, as well as in the deckchair shed (is being converted into a men's changing room) and at times still in the small new men's changing room in the old board room of the club house
- Shower facilities:
There will also be shower facilities for the gentlemen. In order to avoid bottlenecks, the grassroots athletes and especially the gentlemen are encouraged to take a shower at home if possible. Shower facilities are as follows:- At Damenhaus Damen & Herren alternating according to set times
- in summer outdoor shower (is freshly repaired)
- Athletes and women take precedence
- WCs
- The 2 toilets in the sanitary area of the ladies' house are reserved for the ladies.
- The men use the toilet in the vestibule of the ladies' house. There is a toilet and a pissoir. Both are separated by a partition.
- The toilets in the staircase wing of the clubhouse remain with us for long stretches of the renovation phase until the new ones are installed. So that there are also possibilities
- Ergometer riding:
- Partially in the dumbbell room
- Partly in the pergola
- Power rowers take precedence
- Depending on the construction progress, it may be possible to drive again after completion of the roof (ca. January 2027) in the house Ergo, in winter 27/28 again in full
- boats: because of the work on boat halls and aft stables, it must be expected that boats of the volume of half a boat hall will have to be outsourced over a longer period of time. Temporarily from an entire hall. Various possibilities in Oberschleißheim, other clubs or simply with us on the meadow we have in the drawer and pull them out when the time comes.
- parking: is no longer available from September until the end of construction work
- Sun loungers: 10 beds are stored in the tent for everyone. In addition, no deckchairs are stored on the premises. Who has not yet picked up his couches: They are still under the pergola, but will be sold off and soon disposed of.
- Kitchen operation: In the BRK room, which is prepared as a tea kitchen. Of course, only in limited form: Only coffee, tea and cold drinks, pretzels purchased from the baker. Everyone has to bring their own cups/mugs. We don't have any washing facilities.
The interim phase has some limitations. We have considered many different options with the members and hope that with this plan, which like all other options has advantages and disadvantages, we have opted for a viable path. We want to fill it with life, if necessary we will improve it.
Accompanying construction progress
So that you do not have to curb your curiosity for two years before you learn how everything will be, construction site tours are offered at regular intervals by the architect and Virginia Leonhardt.

Funding and donations
We now have permits for the start of construction for our refurbishment from the BLSV (associated with the evaluation for a state subsidy of 700 T€), from the state capital Munich (associated with a preliminary funding decision of about 600 T€), and from the lower monument protection authority (funding decisions still open). Furthermore, we have a grant of 50 thousand euros from the German Foundation for the Protection of Monuments and 42 thousand euros from the BafA.
In addition to the funding, VR Bank Starnberg has promised us a long-term loan of €600 thousand as well as an interim financing loan for bridging the gap until the funding is disbursed. The contracts are currently being drafted.
The donation stand
The current donation commitments amount to 535 T€. Of these, €327 thousand have already been received in the MRC account. According to the current information of the members about deposits, 32 thousand euros have already been received on our donation account at the DSD. Already promised and new donations please continue to be preferred to the DSD account, because there donations up to 250 T€ will be doubled.
The DSD account can be reached via the QR code (hangs everywhere in the club), via this link or classically by bank transfer:
- Beneficiary: German Foundation for the Protection of Monuments,
- IBAN: DE71 500 400 500 400 500 400,
- BIC: COBADEFFXXX,
- Intended use: ‘PR07848-01 MRC boathouse’
The status of the pledges on funding, loans and donations gives us the necessary assurance that we can start our project in September. We are also confident that we will be able to implement the refurbishment swiftly.
We urge those who have not yet given us a new SEPA mandate to send it to us now. You will find the SEPA mandate here, and about this link You can send it back. We will give you a more detailed picture of the state of financing before the first tranche of the levy is collected.
MRC Bazaar
