January was all about the women who played a big part in the German Rowing Federation's ergometer challenge.
We have compiled an overview of the most important dates of this year, initially unfortunately the funeral of Winnie.
Then please note down the club cleaning days, the rowing on and off as well as the kilometre day.
The film premiere of the RTL crime film, which takes place on our premises, also invites you to watch it together.
And please be prepared for the collection of membership fees in the next few days.

Women’s Rowing Challenge 2026 – we were there
In January, many rowers again competed in the Women’s Rowing Challenge, which, according to DRV, was to become the world’s largest women’s rowing event. Although the world record was not broken, there were 215 rowing clubs with 5816 participants at the start, who have covered a total of more than 63,188 km in the four challenges.
The MRC was very much involved!
With almost 745 rowed kilometers, we have the 21. Place in the overall ranking. It lacked less than 1000m in the top 20!. Well-drawn and super-fighting, MRC girls!
30 out of a total of 65 MRC women have driven all four challenges. It was great that we could still win more women with each challenge. All age groups were represented, and our Ü45 women were on the 7th. Place rowed forward. Top 10!
Many thanks to all members, friends and family members for being there and for so diligently getting on the ergo.

Call for tenders Course:
‘Secure in the One and at the Bridge’
The popular course takes place as every year to practice getting into the skiff, from the jetty and from the water, and docking at the jetty.

Clubhouse/infrastructure
Collection of membership fees
In the coming days, we will debit the contributions for 2026 (admission fees, membership fees, fees for the use of club facilities as well as compensation payments for not provided club service) by direct debit. Please note that the contributions are based on the increased rates according to the contribution regulations (MRC homepage).
With regard to the surcharge for the renovation of the boathouse, we come to you separately.

The funeral of Winnie
and Winnie (www.mrc1880.de/2026/02/nachruf-winnie/) will be buried at 9:00 a.m. at Munich's Ostfriedhof.
The available time in the Blessing Hall is short, only 20 min. Here we can show Winnie a maximum of 10 min reference (there is no opportunity for this at the Urnengrab).

Next is our auction on 27.2. to: the first auction in the history of the MRC association, online or on site in Starnberg (link to homepage).

The time has finally come – crime time
You remember last summer when the clubhouse was the setting for crime filming for two weeks? This crime novel (Behringer and the Dead) is now completed and will be on TV for the first time on March 10th.
That's why we are planning a public viewing on 10.03.2026, starting at 7.30 p.m. in exactly this clubhouse, which will appear in the crime novel!
The film starts at 8:15 p.m., but we will learn first-hand what it's like to be in the background at such an event. There are donation-based drinks and popcorn for the right viewing feeling.
If you would like to be part of the public viewing, please contact Birgit Hassler (birgit.hassler@mrc1880.de) so that we have an overview of how many people we can expect. Please let us know if you can help with setting up and/or dismantling.

The traditional New Year's Eve rowing with white sausage breakfast took place in the freezing cold and fantastic sunshine.

Event manager
We are looking for members who plan individual events (e.g. rowing on and off, mileage day, summer party, Advent party) and coordinate the helpers (e.g. from the club service) during the preparation and implementation. The event managers are supported by experienced members. You can also join forces and become active as a team.
