Your board of directors

Minutes of the Annual General Meeting and information on restructuring planning

The minutes of the Annual General Meeting of 22.03.25 are now available for you in the internal section of the homepage.

The Board of Management's restructuring plans have been approved by a large majority (90% of those present, including the transferring voices), your agreement was found.

Further information on the homepage will follow shortly, e.g. the results of the member survey.

The dialogue continues: Stefanie offers the following next date for the further procedure with the results of the member surveys Monday, 23.06.25, 6 pm at the MRC. If you are unable to attend the event in person, please consult with rowing friends who will participate.

Bathing jetty

Dear Steg(rück)bauer and kiln professionals, dear Badenixinnen,

In addition to rowing, bathing is one of the MRCler's most beautiful leisure activities. This requires a safe bathing platform. In order for this to remain the case, extensive renovation work must be carried out this year, which, in addition to the planks of the flooring, also affects the rotten substructure. We have to put that in professional hands.

In order to make the project as sustainable and as cost-effective as possible, we have agreed with the bridge builder that we will carry out the dismantling in-house.

The (untreated) wood is available to stove owners (against a voluntary donation) and can either be picked up by themselves or ‘delivered’ in large quantities.

The work will be carried out on a piece-by-piece basis in June/July in such a way that access to the lake is available until the end. The construction by the carpenter's company should then go over the stage in about 10 days.

For the dismantling in June, I am looking for a team of 10-15 members willing to work, which I can distribute on 4-5 Saturdays. It is planned that everyone will work about twice.

Hence my call: Please contact me by email. I will then inform you about the further steps in detail.

Thank you very much, Rolf Schuh

Kilometre day 2025 on 14.06.2025 with drum whirl and grill

On Saturday, June 14th, we are hosting our traditional MRC1880 kilometre day, which is now being taken to a new level:
From 10:30 will be Sambaband Drumadama play for us, which brings an explosive mixture of traditional and modern rhythms between samba, reggae, afro, salsa, Balkan and funk.
At this time Guido Gilbert will also be standing at the grill and the club kitchen will also be open.

About encores to the buffet (e.g. salads, cakes) we would be very happy!

Comes numerous, rows what the stuff holds (the kilometre trophy rewards the kilometre record of the day), participate in the betting event and enjoy food, drink and music together!

Star trip on Lake Starnberg

As last year, MRSV, Tutzinger RV and TSV Herrsching together with the MRC are organizing a star tour on Lake Starnberg, this time on the

Saturday 12 July

In addition to sport, it is also about cultivating the community of clubs on our lakes. That's why we ride in mixed boats.

We leave with a maximum of 4 boats very punctually at 9.30 am. (On this day there are also long-distance swimmers across the lake, whom we do not want to get in the way). The destination is the Buchscharner Seewirt, which is expected to offer a few dishes to choose from at a fixed price.

The experience of last year has shown that not a few rowers underestimated the effort of a full sea lap (no, not with us of course :-)). Therefore, this time the ascension will lead on the east bank towards the south and after the lunch break via Seeshaupt to Tutzing. It officially ends there after 33 km – anyone who is still motivated to continue is still welcome to do so. The rest of the boats we row back to Starnberg the following day.

If you want to ride, you should have covered at least 300 km in the boat last year and trust the long distance. Registration for MRC members please contact me via e-mail by 28 June at the latest.

Please let me know if you can be the chairman and who can be there on July 13th to bring the boats back from Tutzing.

Many greetings
Hellmuth

Review Events and hiking tours

In the spring, many MRClers are swarming out.

Some masters have polished their technique in the rudder bearing (Report rudder bearings), others were on the Main (Report Main hiking trip) or on the Loire (Loire Valley report) for rowing.

The traditional May 1st tour on Lake Ammersee took place under the best conditions, so luck with the weather was probably rare so far.

Reminder Course "Safe in the One and at the Bridge"

Ulrich Kaltwasser will once again be offering the popular course for single riders on 26 July.

More information here: Course: Safe in one and at the pier – Münchener Ruder-Club von 1880 e.V.

The gold boy

For Wolfgang Jacobi, born in 1942, rowing remains a lifelong adventure. In the May edition of ‘rudersport’, Luisa Gärtner rolls out his exciting rowing vita over four pages, from the beginnings on the Rhine to rowing global from Florida to Australia. Already 76, the racing rowing fixed him, and at 82 he won gold for the first time. The rolling seat – challenger and life school of the MRCler for over seven decades.
