Autumn plaster on Saturday, 26 October
All those who enjoy a beautiful club complex and a thriving club life are invited to live out their ‘cleaning instinct’ together on 26.10.24 😊
Here's some info:
- We meet punctually at 10:00 a.m. at the terrace for classification.
- There will be no rowing until the end of the action at around 3:00 p.m.
- This year, the focus should indeed be on ‘pushing’, but there are also a few artisanal and horticultural projects with active participation.
- For safety reasons, please bring appropriate cleaning equipment (e.g. steam cleaner for windows, also buckets and rags) or tools.
As a reward, there are free drinks and lunches from the proven cuisine of Markus Reitner.
We are very pleased about a lively participation!

Fire protection and ergoruder season
The ergo season is back. As you know, despite many substantial improvements, our clubhouse has a fire protection problem that will not be completely remedied until the major renovation.
So that the ergo operation in the clubhouse is still possible, Please always be in the crewman. and have a ready-to-receive mobile phone lying next to you during the training. So we can reach you in case of an emergency or tell the fire brigade if there is still someone in the house.
In order to further increase safety, the Haus und Hof team has been present for weeks, provisional 2. To build escape routes over the kitchen roof and the aft barn.
Swallows and pigeons
So that you do not wonder: For autumn cleaning, all swallow inflow holes in the boathouse gates are closed again. Our swallows have already flown into their winter quarters. This is used by the pigeons, who would like to hibernate with us. So that they do not displace the swallows, we close the entry holes until spring.
Rowing and New Member Event on October 27th
As already announced, the routing will take place on 27 October.
Comes at 9:30 a.m. so we can get on the water at 10:00 a.m. The kitchen is open, Markus Reitner cooks us.
Please also check if there is clothing from you in the remaining found boxes.
The information event for new members will also take place before rubbing. Thereafter, the ‘new’ can also board the boats with the ‘old’.
The meeting point is therefore at 8:45 am at the clubhouse. The new members will be contacted separately.
Clubmagazin Riemen&Skull 2025
The club magazine 2025 will be published in February 2025, the editorial deadline for contributions is 4 November 2024.
Anyone else want to talk about our club life, regattas, or about a special experience in the MRC1880 or on a ride? Please send texts and images (with high resolution) to the editor-in-chief by November 4th: bub.vera@gmx.de.
Beginning of the cold water season on 1 November
Please remember: The cold water season begins on 1 November.
Wears safety vests (if necessary, check with TÜV beforehand, i.e. send the vest to the manufacturer or drop it off in the shop of the Rambeck shipyard, which sends the vests for maintenance).
Please note that the rescue stations on the lake are not occupied during the cold water season and that the storm warning system is not operated. With emergency call (112) it may take some time for help to come.
From 1 November, the winter sailing regulations will also start because of the Ramsar River. These must be followed to protect the birds.
All safety instructions can be read here:
Implementation of the new MRC1880 mission statement: Concept for the prevention of violence and a respectful handling in the MRC
In recent months and years, numerous associations and associations (DOSB, dsj, DRV) have developed concepts for appreciative interaction between members and for dealing with violations of rules and interpersonal violence. This is particularly important in sport, as regional and supra-regional examples show. The Board expressly commits itself to promoting culture, communication and dialogue in the MRC and to developing and implementing its own prevention concept to prevent all forms of violence.
To this end, he has set up a working group that develops a prevention concept in close consultation with the Executive Board and transfers the values and principles of coexistence formulated in the new mission statement to the MRC.
In order for the concept to be presented and made available to all members as far as possible in spring 2025, everyone needs support and cooperation. If you would like to contribute to this topic or provide feedback, please feel free to contact the members of this working group or the Executive Board. The working group consists of Manja Arlt, Kristin Teuber, Claus Krüger, Audrey Delphendahl, Dilan Cosar, Christian Horbach and Michael Alt.
The Management Board would like to thank the AG and all those involved for their previous and future involvement in this matter.
Masters at Roseninselachter and Rheinmarathon
Rose island yacht
Rarely numerous and wide was this year's participation of the MRC1880 with a total of 13 boats from the student and youth rowing groups, women's and men's yachts in the master area of various age groups, partly pure MRC teams, other than racing community.
Several first places and further good results were achieved, despite sometimes adverse water conditions. Unfortunately, some of our boats had to pay tribute to the waves and did not reach the finish line on schedule.
The first place of the racing community MRC/RGM ("Munich8") with a dream time of about 42 minutes in front of the Frankfurt RG Germania with Olympic champion Oliver Zeidler on board is worth highlighting.
And: Dietrich Falke has once again been honored as the oldest participant.
Due to illness, some MRCers have failed in their racing community, such as in the boat with helmswoman Samantha Seymour, who is a 1. Place has rowed (previous season exceeded), as well as the price for the longest journey also the 2. Place in the boat thanks to the Brazilian Cassio Jose Maraes from CN de Brasilia.
Details on the names of the participants and the times of the individual races can be found in the results list via the following link: results (external link).

Rhine Marathon

At the Rhine Marathon from Leverkusen to Düsseldorf, the MRC1880 was represented by 3 boats. Over the 42.9 kilometers, the men's boat won gold in their age group, the women's boat silver and also the mixed boat did well. Details follow in the club magazine.
Looking for a room
Dear members of the Munich Rowing Club,
I am currently working as a Bufdi with you in the association and looking for an apartment or a shared room in Starnberg and surroundings. Since the search for accommodation here is not easy, I hope for your support. Maybe one of you has a tip or knows a free room that can ideally be connected to the club.
I look forward to any feedback and am grateful for any help!

Greetings and see you soon at the club!

Board of Directors Training and Questions for All
Superintendent training

On Saturday, October 12, a group was again trained in theory. Further training will follow, and everyone should continue to train to increase safety in the MRC1880.
Questions for everyone
The steamer runs between the jetty and the harbour (see photo) and honks 2x briefly at this point. What does that mean?
A) Attention
B) I (the steamer) direct my course to starboard
C) I direct my course to port
D) My machine goes backwards

That's right, C.
Do not hinder the steamer on the way to the port. Depending on the situation, get off the train, if necessary stop the rudder to let it pass, dodge under the stern …
The signals are as follows:
- 1x long: caution
- 1x short: I direct my course to starboard
- 2x short: I'm directing my course to port
- 3x short: My machine goes backwards
