Summer Festival 2024

On July 6, this year's summer festival took place in an initially summery atmosphere. With a lot of commitment, eager members have once again set out to create a beautiful and lively party. Much was done by other helpers in the supply of cakes and salads as well as in the company in the kitchen and at the bar.

Still hoping for a passing of the announced thunderstorm, Uli welcomed those present, especially the strongly represented youth group, which had only achieved beautiful results two weeks ago at the German Youth Championship in Essen, especially the silver medal in the Junior B-Eight.

Due to thunderstorms, however, a long-awaited "club championship" in drawn four-man crews had to be cancelled. The teams were already named and divided into mixed teams called ‘Frisch’, ‘Fromm’, ‘Fröhlich’ and ‘Frei’ and almost at the start, when the 90s storm warning put a dash through the plan. It's a pity, but we'll catch up!

The grill was quickly heated. With a lot of effort and perfection, Andi Fischbach conjured up a great offer from the grill together with his training group. That was great, Andi! Many thanks to all youthful helpers and preparers, who did not let the onset of rain spoil their mood and kept the grill under control, only moderately protected from the rain under an umbrella. Together with a rich offer of contributed salads and other delicacies, we really enjoyed our culinary delights. Many thanks to all those who have contributed to this. Barrel beer, Aperol Spritz and other cocktails kept the throats moist.

New beer garden tables were named by name and invited, depending on the mood and self-assessment, to settle at certain tables: Overcrowded were, for example, the Gigan table and the Optimis table, others felt no less comfortable at the Phantas table; but also the Chao table and the Hek table did not remain unoccupied.

All in all, it was a very nice and harmonious mood, which could hardly affect the rain. Some also took the opportunity to meet the new board members. Pergola and the roof between the boat halls offered good protection, and later the situation also relaxed more and more with decreasing rain. To a new one at the next party!
