Shortly beforehand:
Our Club magazine 2025 is online – likes to share it with rowing friends of other clubs. And please remember to collect reports and pictures for the next magazine.

Please remember, too, that Evidence of formal qualifications to Birgit e-mail, if not done yet.

As always, the rowing bridge is at the spring cleaning (next Saturday, 05.04.) closed from 10:30 a.m., as well as the kitchen for normal operation.

Festive rowing with boat baptism, delicacies and music

Dear rowing friends, dear young people, dear families & friends of the MRC1880,

On Sunday 6 April Let's start the new rowing season together and with full force ahead – with our traditional Rowing and a solemn Boat baptism, It's a real highlight this year.
Total Five new boats strengthen our fleet with immediate effect, including a new race-eight, which is proudly named "King Ludwig of Bavaria“ is baptized.

We are particularly pleased to announce that for this festive moment Prince Leopold of Bavaria and Princess Ursula of Bavaria They were able to win godparents and guests of honor. Prince Leopold will celebrate with us and also be on board – in the truest sense of the word.

The process – festive, sporty, sociable
9:00 a.m. – Registration of all rowers who wish to row on the water
9:45 a.m. – Please be ready for the christening ceremony in club clothing
10:00 a.m. – Boat baptism with all godparents. The baptismal boats then go on the water – followed by all other boats
From approx. 1 p.m. – Lunch together in company clothes or traditional costumes

Markus Reitner provides us with Bavarian delicacies, his legendary Roast pork, and also for our vegetarian guests is of course thought. Provides musical accompaniment Stefan Holz with his Würmtal wind music – atmospheric Bavarian. In addition, there is the opportunity to stock up on Karen Schindler's MRC1880 rowing clothes for the new rowing season.

A special highlight awaits us on the water:
Prince Leopold of Bavaria will accompany our trip together with Andi Fischbach and sporting director Frank Salzmann in the motorboat. All boats meet on the water, where a small show race with the Munich8 takes place. Watching, cheering or moving - anything is possible. Please plan your return so that we can all from 13:00/13:30 You can sit at the table together.

We are looking forward to a big rowing festival together to kick off the season – with pace, momentum and community.

Welcome Of course, they are also all those who do not row along – family, friends, club members.

PS: On Sunday, the MRC parking lot is reserved for the musicians, the caterer and our guest of honour Prince Leopold of Bavaria – thank you all for observing this small but important exception rule.

And before that? Of course spring cleaning – communal, thorough and in a good mood!

Spring cleaning on April 5th at 11:00 a.m.

Dear club members,

On Saturday 5 April at 11:00 We cordially invite you to the traditional spring cleaning.

For new members perhaps a surprise, for old members already part of our club DNA: Together we make house, terrain and equipment fit for the season!

The meeting point is in front of the boat hall for a short break – please be on time so that we can get started in a structured way.

The focus this time is on the cleanliness in the main and ladies' house, the flotting of the site and the maintenance of the ergometers. The preparation for the rowing and the boat baptism on Sunday is also on the agenda.

Important: Please bring your own cleaning kit – ideal are window cleaners, buckets, cleaning pads and gloves. So everyone:r has something at hand to support the team.

For refreshment, there will be a joint lunch prepared by Markus Reitner. Free for all helpers! The kitchen is closed for normal operation from 10:30. And from 4:00 p.m. we start our successful work with a beer after work.

We are looking forward to two wonderful, collaborative days at the club – first actively tackle, then start the season with pace and momentum!

Review of the Annual General Meeting 2025

Our JHV on Saturday in the Schlossberghalle was very well attended and lively. After the opening by the board, Mayor Janik also gave a welcome speech. With the presentation of the conversion and refurbishment project for our clubhouse and the proposal of the board of directors, particularly interesting content was on the agenda this year. The plans also hung out in the Schlossberghalle and were discussed extensively. A team from the MRC1880 offered snacks and drinks.

The most important in brief:
The Board's request to continue planning after completion of the feasibility study was approved by a large majority of 90% adopted.

The Board would like to thank you for the trust you have placed in us.

More than half of the participants also came to the subsequent dinner together in the Tutzinger Hof, where the evening ended relaxed.

It is now a matter of taking the momentum and taking the next steps in a timely manner, in close cooperation with the members.

MRC Archive in the Starnberg City Archive

The MRC1880 archive and historical objects have now been handed over to the Starnberg City Archives. A win-win situation for both sides. Read for yourself.

Hiking rowing on Lake Ammersee

Dear Wanderruders,

on 1 May The TSV Herrsching once again organizes a tour of the Ammersee, to which we are cordially invited. For further information please see the invitation.

Continuing education: "Safe in the One" and new mooring course

In March/April Stefan Holz conducts a new 3-part course for safe mooring. Since this course is already full, we plan for May is another course. Interested parties can pre-register here: konstanze.steinheimer@mrc1880.de.

Embroidered clubwear

Liane Löser organizes an appointment for the Embroidery of club clothes by name.

If you want to have your club clothes embroidered by name, you can leave your clothes in a named bag on Saturday morning after rowing at Liane. Please stick your name badge where you want the embroidery to be, see photos as instructions.

Help wanted for regattas

Dear rowing friends,

We are forwarding a call from the Bavarian Rowing Association with the request for support:

This year Regatta Munich will again host two regattas at the Olympic regatta facility in Oberschleißheim, aSuch events are not possible without the support of volunteers!

On 3 and 4 May Measuring with the 2025 Munich International Junior Regatta The best juniors in Europe.
From 26 to 29 June 2025, the Federal Competition for Boys and Girls will take place instead. This is where the best U15 rowers in Germany start, and Bayern will also be represented with a large team.

Regatta Munich is In search of many volunteers, without which such events are not possible. See all further information Newsletter of the Regatta Association.
