Important safety training with the water guards on 7 or 8 September
We have the opportunity to practice rescue and rescue in emergencies together with the Wasserwacht Feldafing and Starnberg and the DLRG Possenhofen. For this purpose, the weekend of 7 or 8 September is reserved in their calendar. The training will start around 10 a.m. and end around 3 p.m. You're getting wet!
Please take a look at your calendar and, if you are interested, contact our sports board with the suitable days for you Frank.Salzmann@mrc1880.de .
New member event on 14 September
Dear rowing friends, dear new members!
The MRC1880 has also gained many new members this year – lateral entrants and rowing beginners, adults and children.
We are happy about the growth and want to take this as an opportunity to get everyone together to row, and then to deepen our contacts with food and drink. In addition, some members will inform about different areas of the MRC1880 (safety in autumn and winter, rowing, club services, etc.).
When:
On Saturday 14 September 2024
Meet at 9.30 a.m., hand at the boat at 10.00 a.m.!
All members, especially those who missed the event last year, are welcome.
Please register no later than 12 September in Crewman on the appropriate date.
Experiencing. Rowing. Together.

Obleute-Training in MRC1880
Since this spring, it has been possible to participate in the MRC1880 as a Chairwoman/Chairman to be trained. This is very important for safety in general rowing operations, so that rowers and boats return safely to the jetty. From the middle of next year, only boats with at least one certified supervisor can go on the water.
As you know, the Obleute training consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The practical part can be taken from the already trained ‘multipliers’. These are:
Bernd F.
Birgit H.
Christian H.
Dietrich F.
Friederike W.
Henrik L
Klaus-Michael Z.
Michael A.
Polly
Samantha S.
Stefan H.
Vera B.
Ulf will offer another date for the theoretical part of the training later this year.
Now our call: Take advantage of the good weather to complete the practical part of the training! Once autumn or winter is around the corner, it gets much more complicated, and you can't get on the water as often.
As far as possible, all active rowers should complete the Obleute training.
Our new Bufdi: Moritz Weighart
Moritz will serve a year of federal voluntary service in the MRC1880 from 15 September.
Welcome, dear Moritz!
Moritz comes to us from Regensburg and presents himself here Shortly before. He is also looking for a room to take up his duties – who can help?

From house and yard
Bernd Forssmann donated us a pair of binoculars, which is now installed at the hall window. If a boat is missing on the lake, you can keep an eye out for it.
The repair work on the bathing jetty has not yet brought the desired success. House and yard is still improving the condition. Please be patient.
We had now for the second time the fire survey of the city of Starnberg in the house. It has certified good progress in the implementation of fire protection measures. A heartfelt thank you to the members of the Haus- und Hof-Team for all their work!
Next is the outsourcing of the rescue equipment on the program (the rockets act as fire accelerators), as well as the excavation of the built-in fuse box and the construction of a 2nd provisional rescue route over the aft barn roof.
Renovation of the clubhouse:

At the last board meeting we dealt intensively with our clubhouse.
Historical pictures, which Ulrike Mertz has collected from the history team, have given us a good impression of the splendour of past years. The substance team told us about his sightseeing tour to historic boathouses in Berlin. With our topics of monument protection, fire protection, escape stairs, historical lockers and insufficient financing, we are obviously not alone. However, other clubs have already found great solutions for this. We are confident that we can do it too! Now an architectural firm is to be commissioned with a feasibility study – the first step in planning the clubhouse renovation. We will report to you.
The historic postcard shows the clubhouse in 1900 with a plastered facade and closed Belvedere towers.
MRC1880 Masters on sprint regattas in July
After the first sprint regatta in Heidelberg in May, two major competitions were held in our home area in Oberschleißheim in July: More than 20 MRC Masters rowers took part in the Bavarian Championships and completed the 1000m course with a lot of fun in various boat combinations. Stefan Hamels was able to prevail in the 1x as the winner of his age class and won the second medal in the men's double four. A week later, more than 30 races were registered at the Euro-Masters. Almost all participants were satisfied with their results, especially the two eights (MW8+ B, MM/W8+ A), Stefan Hamels in one, and Wolfgang Jacobi, all of whom were able to drive home with a medal.
Now the training for the Roseninsel-Achter and the Bocksbeutel-Regatta in Würzburg comes into focus with a change: In the morning, no more 500m sprints are trained, but average strokes and constant 500m times over 6km. Uff – this is a change for everyone!
Your contact person for the Masters rowing Friederike Winter can be reached at masters@mrc1880.de.
Messages for Rose Island - 8
The 8+ Regatta to Roseninsel starts on 28 September. Our friends from the Munich rowing and sailing association ‘Bayern’ of 1910 e.V. are looking forward to a lively participation with us.
Please contact us if you are interested, also with team and boat requests, at Frank.Salzmann@mrc1880.de. The official deadline for registration is September 18th, but please contact us as soon as possible. We want to make sure that all teams have a boat, ideally the preferred one, and we also want to support the organizers with rental boats.
Handover of the MRC1880 Kilometre Day Cup
On kilometre day 2024, a total of 1616 km were rowed. Uschi Altendorfer, who received her trophy from organizer Paul Vignau and first chairman Uli Kulozik in July, had the most kilometers.
Laetitia has been honored as a race winner with her estimate of 1600 km.

We would like to inform you that the following payments for 2024 will be made by direct debit on 7 September:
- Membership fees 2. HJ, if no full-year payment has been made
- Admission fees and pro rata membership fees for new members

Thank you and best regards

Question from Obleute training to all members
In the event of a storm warning (fast concentricity, 90 signals per minute), the following applies:
A) "Warning, severe weather is to be expected"
B) ‘Danger of approaching shore’
C) ‘Danger, do not expire’
That's right: B and C, leave the water immediately or do not run out.
The storm warning (40 signals per minute) warns that severe weather is to be expected.
