Dear rowing friends,

As stated in the most recent general meeting, the planning and preparation of our refurbishment project is in full swing. Once the building permit has been obtained, we will start renewing the building envelope in September.
As reported, we were able to convince the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz (DSD) of our project, so that it became one of our sponsors:

The DSD (www.denkmalschutz.de) supports our project with a basic amount of up to 100,000 € (50,000 € for 2026 are already approved).

In addition, the DSD has prominently promoted our project in its magazine ‘Monumente’ (April 2026) and has already received donations of €10,600, which will be passed on to us.

Just a few days ago, a great additional funding opportunity opened up through the DSD to our support: A DSD sponsor has found himself who is so enthusiastic about our project that he wants to double donations received by the DSD for our clubhouse with up to € 250,000. From 250,000 € donated funds can therefore become 500,000 €, which would relieve us considerably. i.e. in concrete terms, that every euro that is received for the MRC in the DSD donation account (see below) is doubled.

What does this mean for us as a donor community?
Many of us have already made a donation to our VR Bank account, in total € 310,000.Some have pledged further donations of € 190,000 in total, which are already included in our financing concept. We ask you to direct your individually committed amount 2026 or 2027 to the DSD account instead of the MRC account in order to double it.

Hopefully there will be more donors (members, friends and guests of the MRC) due to the doubling of the donation amount to the special account with the DSD to 250,000 € and thus exploit the full potential of the doubling with which the DSD patron wants to support us. This could relieve us, if necessary, with our planned membership fees for the next few years. QR code to the DSD donation account instead of our club current account (here also a link if the image with the QR code below is not visible). You will be automatically forwarded via app so that the money arrives safely with us.

The DSD keeps us informed about the receipt of donations (without attribution). Please feel free to send us an e-mail when you send us a transfer stefan.spindler@mrc1880.de, so that we can match the credits to the special account with our list of promised (and already included in the financing concept) donations. The donation receipt will then be issued by the DSD.
