Our rowing friend Rüdiger Patzer died surprisingly on 8 June 2026 at the age of 86.
Rüdiger was a successful racing rower and German champion in the Riemen Vierer (RG Kassel) in the 1960s. After joining the MRC (01.08.1986), he enjoyed making particularly long trips on the lake in his own skiff. For each boat he was a welcome reinforcement to the seniors.
He travelled with us on many hiking trips. His cheerful, friendly and helpful manner was always very appreciated in the group and a social enrichment.
Cycling, skat and chess were among his other hobbies. As a graduate engineer, he was particularly pleased to repair old wooden racing boats.
We will keep our rowing friend Rüdiger in good memory.
