with life and unites it with the values of the German Rowing Association and democratic principles.
- Rowing: We promote and value all sporting activities in the MRC 1880 and orient them primarily to the members who regularly and actively participate in the development of the association, from performance sports to grassroots sports, from children's rowing to senior rowing, on Lake Starnberg, on the Olympic regatta track in Oberschleißheim as well as on regattas or hiking trips.
We promote rowing for all with and without restrictions, taking into account their rowing skills in all rowing and training groups.
Fair handling in competition and at the boat site is our top priority.
We respect the rules of conduct for safety and take care of the sports equipment.
- Together: We are a social, solidarity-based community in which each member makes a personal contribution to a tolerant coexistence in a good team atmosphere. We contribute to the development of society in and around Munich and particularly strive for a good understanding with the city and district of Starnberg, Munich and Oberschleißheim.
Regardless of origin, religion, skin colour, gender or sexual orientation, we always meet with openness and trust.
We maintain a respectful tone among all members, whether in direct contact or through other communication channels, including social media. Any form of violence, whether physical, psychological, sexualized or verbal, is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. In case of conflicts, we strive to find a solution in a factual, personal conversation.
We appreciate all volunteers' commitment to rowing and the MRC 1880. We support those who take responsibility for the club.
We contribute our individual skills to maintain our traditional clubhouses and boathouses as well as the grounds in good condition or to develop them functionally and in the sense of nature and climate protection on land and on water.
- Experience: We appreciate the recreational value and recreational opportunities that our sport offers us in our and all other rowing areas.
We value community and conviviality before, during or after rowing.
We get involved in preparing special occasions and celebrating together.
Safe Sport in the MRC 1880
Why?
Wherever people come together, interpersonal violence happens, including in sport. The German Olympic Sports Federation has announced the fight: With the Safe sport code (2024) the umbrella organisation of organised sport strongly opposes all forms of violence in sports clubs and associations. The aim of the rules is to initiate change, create trust and strengthen a culture of watching and acting in sport. Violence, on the other hand, has no place in sport; it is also prosecuted and punished below the criminal threshold. The German Rowing Association has also established a comprehensive prevention concept in its structures.
How?
The MRC 1880 is committed to the concept of safe sport. He wants to protect the active children and young people in particular and to develop a culture of mindfulness and respectful coexistence of all members. For this, the association needs a concept of protection against violence, in which activities for the prevention of acts of injustice and procedures of intervention and processing after incidents are described. The Board of Directors of the MRC 1880 has set up a working group to develop this concept.
Interpersonal violence can take place at any time at the e-mail address safe-sport@mrc1880.de be reported.
