The preparations for the Anruder weekend are in full swing!
Here's a little reminder:
- Rowing and boat baptism with celebrities, music and delicacies
- and before that we clean out the MRC1880: Spring cleaning
To this end, we report on the new temporary escape routes and recall the cold water season and the BRV's call for regatta helpers.
Please note that at the moment Bees in the sandbox hatch, valuable beneficial insects (pollination of wild plants) that do not sting and soon disappear by themselves. Please leave it alone for as long as possible.
The casino of the MRSV has founded a signal group, about which you will be informed about the current menu, opening hours and events. If you would like to join the mailing list, please feel free to contact Constance report (or simply reply to this newsletter).
As always, the rowing bridge is at the spring cleaning (next Saturday, 05.04.) closed from 10:30 a.m., as well as the kitchen for normal operation.

Festive rowing with boat baptism, delicacies and music
Dear rowing friends, dear young people, dear families & friends of the MRC1880,
On Sunday 6 April Let's start the new rowing season together and with full force ahead – with our traditional Rowing and a solemn Boat baptism, It's a real highlight this year.
Total Five new boats strengthen our fleet with immediate effect, including a new race-eight, which is proudly named "King Ludwig of Bavaria“ is baptized.
We are particularly pleased to announce that for this festive moment Prince Leopold of Bavaria and Princess Ursula of Bavaria They were able to win godparents and guests of honor. Prince Leopold will celebrate with us and also be on board – in the truest sense of the word.
The process – festive, sporty, sociable
9:00 a.m. – Registration of all rowers who wish to row on the water
9:45 a.m. – Please be ready for the christening ceremony in club clothing
10:00 a.m. – Boat baptism with all godparents. The baptismal boats then go on the water – followed by all other boats
From approx. 1 p.m. – Lunch together in company clothes or traditional costumes
Markus Reitner provides us with Bavarian delicacies, his legendary Roast pork, and also for our vegetarian guests is of course thought. Provides musical accompaniment Stefan Holz with his Würmtal wind music – atmospheric Bavarian. In addition, there is the opportunity to stock up on Karen Schindler's MRC1880 rowing clothes for the new rowing season.
A special highlight awaits us on the water:
Prince Leopold of Bavaria will accompany our trip together with Andi Fischbach and sporting director Frank Salzmann in the motorboat. All boats meet on the water, where a small show race with the Munich8 takes place. Watching, cheering or moving - anything is possible. Please plan your return so that we can all from 13:00/13:30 You can sit at the table together.
We are looking forward to a big rowing festival together to kick off the season – with pace, momentum and community.
Welcome Of course, they are also all those who do not row along – family, friends, club members.

PS: On Sunday, the MRC parking lot is reserved for the musicians, the caterer and our guest of honour Prince Leopold of Bavaria – thank you all for observing this small but important exception rule.

Spring cleaning on April 5th at 11:00 a.m.
Dear club members,
On Saturday 5 April at 11:00 We cordially invite you to the traditional spring cleaning.
For new members perhaps a surprise, for old members already part of our club DNA: Together we make house, terrain and equipment fit for the season!
The meeting point is in front of the boat hall for a short break – please be on time so that we can get started in a structured way.
The focus this time is on the cleanliness in the main and ladies' house, the flotting of the site and the maintenance of the ergometers. The preparation for the rowing and the boat baptism on Sunday is also on the agenda.
Important: Please bring your own cleaning kit – ideal are window cleaners, buckets, cleaning pads and gloves. So everyone:r has something at hand to support the team.
For refreshment, there will be a joint lunch prepared by Markus Reitner. Free for all helpers! The kitchen is closed for normal operation from 10:30. And from 4:00 p.m. we start our successful work with a beer after work.
We are looking forward to two wonderful, collaborative days at the club – first actively tackle, then start the season with pace and momentum!

Cold water season
The days become longer again, after one or the other heat and cold period in the next few days, the ambient temperatures also rise. The birds have changed the clock, Ramsar rules are passé for this winter, but the water is still dangerously cold.
The rules of the cold water season (until 30 April) still apply for a few weeks.
Please continue to wear your Life jackets! They provide the decisive security in the event of a case.
Even after the end of the winter sailing regulations, extreme caution is asked when navigating the lake, and in particular to take a good look around – it can happen again and again that rowers do not comply with the practiced sailing regulations, and especially in the cold season any collision and any watering would be potentially life-threatening.

From house and yard: Temporary escape routes and more
Two temporary escape routes
Now it is finally time: Rolf Schuh, Stefan Holz, Klaus Flügel, Christian Schübel and some helpers have our provisional 2. Rescue routes from the 1st floor finished. A big, big thank you to the four who have worked intrepidly many weekends and reached a milestone in terms of safety for the MRC1880.
You can reach the ‘small escape route’ from the windows of the board room, the men’s changing room or the western men’s shower via the step ladders available at the windows (which please always stay in place!). With their help, you reach the kitchen roof. There is a ladder ready, which you can push towards the parking lot from the roof.
You can easily reach the ‘large escape route’ via the provisional stairs at the hall window in the direction of Achterstall. On the outside, a similar staircase awaits you, which leads to a platform on the aft stable roof. To the south you can take a comfortable staircase down behind the boat halls to safety.
Looking for successors:
Unfortunately Andreas Neuer will leave us, who has connected our heating systems to the WLAN and was able to save 11000kWh/a gas via remote control. We are urgently looking for a technology-enthusiastic successor who would like to continue this beautiful project. The good thing: You can control a lot of the sofa at home. Help wanted for regattas: reminder
Dear rowing friends,
We are forwarding a call from the Bavarian Rowing Association with the request for support:
This year Regatta Munich will again host two regattas at the Olympic regatta facility in Oberschleißheim, aSuch events are not possible without the support of volunteers!
- On 3 and 4 May Measuring with the 2025 Munich International Junior Regatta The best juniors in Europe.
- From 26 to 29 June 2025, the Federal Competition for Boys and Girls will take place instead. This is where the best U15 rowers in Germany start, and Bayern will also be represented with a large team.
