Dear MRCler,
Dear rowing friends
Yesterday we were suddenly informed that our member Dr. Claus Krüger succumbed to a short, serious illness on March 1, 2025, at the age of only 70 years. Unfortunately, all hopes of recovery have not been fulfilled. His death makes us all very sad.
With deep sympathy we mourn with his wife Jadwiga Dutsch, who is also a member of the MRC1880, and with his whole family. It's unbelievable that this is what happened to Claus himself, his family and us in such a surprising way.

The departure of Claus is also an irreplaceable loss for the MRC1880. After the annual general meeting of the MRC exactly one year ago, Claus spontaneously offered to support us as a member of a team for the development of structures for the prevention of violence of any form and for the promotion of respectful cooperation in the association. His special expertise as a doctor, psychoanalyst and coach was invaluable.
We are very grateful that we had Claus in our ranks and in our prevention team and were able to participate in his competence, his humanity and his natural authority.
As an outward sign of our grief, we will put the MRC flag on half-mast in the next few days.
