Werder (Havel) is located in the southwest of Berlin and is known for its idyllic landscape, which offers a perfect backdrop for rowing. The region is characterized by numerous lakes and rivers that meander through the picturesque Havel landscape. The regatta track in Werder (Havel) is nestled in a green environment characterized by forests and water. The calm waters make this place an ideal setting for rowing regattas and offer optimal conditions for training and competition. Werder (Havel) was the venue for three championships this year. Our athletes & athletes of the Munich Rowing Club of 1880 e.V. (MRC) showed at the concurrent German championship rowers, the 76th. German University Championships and the Open German Masters Championships remarkable achievements. They represented not only their club, but also the Munich universities with great success.
The MRC is back at the Open German Masters Championships. After their participation in the Henley Royal Regatta, in which Julian and Sebastian Ritter (actually no brothers) were already successful, they were also able to convince at the national championships. They also showed excellent performance at these championships. In Race 9, the Masters men's two without helmsman A, they won the main race and secured the gold medal with a time of 3:25.56.
In Race 8, the Masters men's Einer C, Stefan Hamels reached second place in the final with a time of 3:54.02. A strong race in which Hamels demonstrated his skills. Stefan was also successful in Race 36, the Masters Men's One D. In the lead-up 2, he secured first place with a time of 3:57.78 and reached third place in the final with a time of 3:51.91.
Felix Zukunft (RG Munich 1972), Benedikt Niederalt (RG Munich 1972), Sophie-Elisabeth Tröger (MRC 1880) and Paula Ruhwandl (RG Munich 1972) started in mixed double four A (SM/F 4x). They won their lead with a time of 3:19.28 and took an impressive second place in the final with a time of 3:13.09, which earned them the silver medal. Mathilda Schütze (MRC 1880) also started in the boat class in Renngemeinschaft (Rgm. Munich RC / RRG Mülheim / Kettwiger RG / ARC Würzburg) and finished fifth in the lead with a time of 3:29.47.
The mixed-eight with helmsman A (SM/F 8+), consisting of Michael Schramm (MRC 1880), Malte Engelbracht (MRC 1880), Tim Weinem (RG Munich 1972), Maximilian Meister (MRC 1880), Gesa Hallmann (MRC 1880), Maria Fischer (RG Munich 1972), Friederike Winter (MRC 1880), Magdalena Rabl (RG Munich 1972) and helmswoman Elisa Saks (MRC 1880), also showed a strong performance. They won their lead confidently with a time of 3:15.13 and reached fourth place in the final with a time of 3:10.03 and rowed just past the podium and a medal.
Sophie-Elisabeth Tröger (MRC 1880), Friederike Winter (MRC 1880), Magdalena Rabl (RG Munich 1972) and Gesa Hallmann (MRC 1880) competed in the women's four without helmsman A (SF 4-). They finished third in the lead-up with a time of 3:56.19 and reached sixth place in the final with a time of 3:52.58. Sophie-Elisabeth Tröger shines not only as an athlete, but also as a federal volunteer in the club.
The club Men's Four without helmsman A (SM 4-A) with Julian Ritter (MRC 1880), Sebastian Ritter (MRC 1880), Malte Engelbracht (MRC 1880) and Maximilian Meister (MRC 1880) showed an impressive performance. They won their lead with a time of 3:12.81 and reached a close second place in the final with a time of 3:07.66, for which they also received the silver medal. They only had to surrender to the second Munich boat, consisting of Benedikt Niederalt (RG Munich 1972), Felix Zukunft (RG Munich 1972), Amade Wagner (MRC 1880) and Jonathan Schönecker (MRC 1880). This racing community of RG Munich 1972 and Munich RC won the first place in the lead with a time of 3:05.65 and rowed in the final with a time of 3:05.65 the golden glans.
In the women's double-four A (SF 4x), Franziska Thalmeier (RG Munich 1972), Julia Hueber (MRSV Bayern), Friederike Winter (MRC 1880) and Gesa Hallmann (MRC 1880) reached fifth place with a time of 3:53.26. Maria Fischer (RG Munich 1972), Lisa Weber (RG Munich 1972), Sophie-Elisabeth Tröger (MRC 1880) and Magdalena Rabl (RG Munich 1972) took first place with a time of 3:35.04 and reached third place in the final with a time of 3:29.32, which earned them the bronze medal.
The men's eighth with helmsman A (SM 8+), consisting of Julian Ritter (MRC 1880), Lennard Kausemann (RG Munich 1972), Tim Weinem (RG Munich 1972), Michael Schramm (MRC 1880), Maximilian Meister (MRC 1880), Sebastian Ritter (MRC 1880), Amade Wagner (MRC 1880), Malte Engelbracht (MRC 1880) and helmswoman Annabel Pooley (MRC 1880), showed an outstanding performance. They won their lead confidently with a time of 3:02.02 and reached a close second place in the final with a time of 3:07.66, which earned them another silver medal. The team, known as Munich8, has once again demonstrated competitive aft rowing from Munich.
Thanks to these impressive results, the MRC was able to take an excellent second place in the club cup. This placement underscores the continuous hard work and dedication of the athletes as well as the entire club.
In the men's double four (SM 4x), Maximilian Rieder, Lennard Kausemann, Flo Kausemann and Erik Stobbelaar started for WG Munich (Munich University Sports). In semi-final B they finished third with a time of 3:12.38 and qualified for final A. In the final they reached sixth place with a time of 3:29.18.
In the men's four without helmsman (SM 4-) two boats of the WG Munich competed. The first boat with Maximilian Rieder, Lennard Kausemann, Valentin Peiker and Flo Kausemann reached third place with a time of 3:26.87. The second boat, consisting of Benedikt Niederalt, Amade Wagner, Jonathan Schönecker and Felix Zukunft, won the lead B with an impressive time of 3:19.74. In Final A, the boat triumphed with Niederalt, Wagner, Schönecker and Zukunft and secured first place and thus the title with a time of 3:18.04. The second boat finished sixth in the final with a time of 3:34.85.
In the mixed double four (SM/F 4x), WG Munich also showed strong performances. The crew consisting of Michael Schramm, Erik Stobbelaar, Lisa Weber and Franziska Thalmeier reached third place in the lead-up and qualified for the final. In the final, they finished sixth.
The men's eighth (SM 8+) of the Munich WG, consisting of Jonathan Schönecker, Amade Wagner, Lennard Kausemann, Benedikt Niederalt, Valentin Peiker, Maximilian Rieder, Felix Zukunft, Flo Kausemann and helmswoman Elisa Saks, also showed an outstanding performance. In the lead-up B they secured first place with a time of 2:56.95 and thus moved into the final. In the final they won with a time of 2:59.22 and thus became university champions.
These results testify to the strong performance and dedication of the athletes of the MRC. The tight decisions and the medals achieved underline the high level and competitiveness of the Munich rowers. Congratulations to all for their outstanding results and their tireless commitment.
